Skills & Drills

This workshop is a broken-down version of Brooke's weekly Skills & Drills class. In this workshop, students can expect to have opportunities to introduce more advanced agility skills. These will include, but not be limited to, distance challenges, obstacle discriminations, backside approaches, serpentines, and threadles. Sequences will be kept short, with 3 to 8 obstacles. When needed, this workshop can be modified for more novice dogs looking to introduce these advanced skills. Dogs should be 12 months or older and have completed a novice-level agility class or similar. If handlers are unsure if their dog is at an appropriate skill level please get in touch with us to discuss.

Weaves & Contacts

This workshop will focus on helping teams either start or deep dive into their dog's weave pole and contact performance skills. Teams can decide if they would like to work with Brooke on either starting or continuing their weave pole or contact training. The following equipment will be available: 2x2 weaves, channel weave poles, A-Frame, Teeter, and Down Plank for the Dog Walk. This workshop will not be able to offer short sequences. We will only be able to focus on obstacle performance (weaves or contacts). This workshop is appropriate for novice to advanced-level teams looking for additional training and guidance on either their weaves or contacts (both if time allows).

Jump Grids

This workshop is designed to help teams looking to either start or continue their dogs jump training. Jumps grids are a great way to teach dogs how to jump correctly when participating in agility. While some dogs jump naturally and only require a small amount of education, other dogs require much more intensive education to help them understand how to jump safely and with good technique. We will focus on the foundation grids, but will be able to add more advanced grids for teams that are ready for them. Dogs 9 months old and older are welcome to join. Teams with dogs under 12 months old can expect grids to be adjusted accordingly so they are not jumping too high or too many reps.
